This is quite simply an attempt to uphold Eph 4:3 – specifically to bring about unity between the calvinists and the arminians who have remained divided for far too long.
We know both groups include Bible-believing Christians who simply cannot happen to agree on certain difficult doctrines – This series seeks to lay out the existing arguments fairly (I’ve presented arguments borrowed from real conversations to avoid author-bias), before presenting the Reconciliation that addresses the concerns of both camps.
The scope of the series is to address common arguments from either camp and while trying to remain comprehensive, it attempts to get the beginner too up to speed. Though this can be read in any order you wish, it’s designed to follow a sequential flow as presented in the index.
I am also aware that some of the explanations here may come across as new and untested in that I cannot quote another theologian or writer who’s interpreted the same. Understandably, the instinct might be to reject or skip over such sections – I can only assure you, the Reader, that none of it is added revelation. All are derived from Scriptures alone and if you could read it with goodwill, especially through the relatively more complex topics, I hope you find the way to be done with our more than a half century’s division.
Again, the intent is to keep updating these posts as per reader comments or emails to contact@faithandreasons.com, either to elaborate or clarify portions. Praying all are edified and that there no longer is a need to identify under the calvinist-arminian labels.
